Pakistan’s PM Says Iran–US Deal Nearing Final Stage
In a message posted on X, Sharif indicated that discussions are nearing completion and suggested that the prospects for a successful outcome are stronger than at any previous point in the process.
“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before,” he wrote.
Sharif said Pakistan is making arrangements for the electronic signing of the accord once the final text is approved. He also noted that technical discussions are expected to begin next week to address implementation mechanisms and other practical aspects of the agreement.
The Pakistani leader expressed appreciation to both Washington and Tehran for maintaining dialogue throughout the negotiation process.
Highlighting the potential significance of the accord, Sharif said the anticipated agreement could mark an important step toward improving regional stability and strengthening cooperation.
“We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace,” he said.
The expected deal follows months of tensions between the United States and Iran that fueled concerns over security in the Middle East, the safety of key maritime routes, and broader regional stability.
