Turkish, UK Officials Hold Talks at Istanbul Defense Fair
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s National Defense Minister Yasar Guler held a meeting on Thursday with British House of Lords Minister Vernon Coaker during the SAHA 2026 defense exhibition in Istanbul.
According to a statement shared on Türkiye’s social media platform NSosyal, Guler continued a series of discussions with visiting officials attending the event. No additional details regarding the content of the meeting were released by authorities.
The SAHA 2026 international defense and aerospace fair is taking place in Istanbul from May 5 to 9, showcasing Türkiye’s growing role in defense technology and industrial development.
Speaking to a media outlet, Türkiye’s Defense Industries Secretary Haluk Gorgun highlighted that the SAHA Istanbul Defense and Aerospace Cluster has significantly energized the sector by strengthening collaboration and increasing international exposure for participating stakeholders.
He added that the event, organized under the auspices of the Turkish presidency, is intended to function as a strategic platform presenting Türkiye’s vision in defense, aviation, and space to a global audience.
Gorgun further stated that the fair is expected to support the country’s drive toward greater technological independence and enhance global recognition of domestic projects, aligning with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s “Century of Türkiye” initiative.
