Turkish, African Businesses Unite at WCI Forum
Utku Bengisu, the forum's president, stated during his opening speech that “investing in Africa is investing in the future.”
He also mentioned that the event has positively impacted Turkish-African relations.
Bengisu pointed out that the forum has facilitated the increasing popularity of Turkish goods and technologies throughout the African continent.
“We are proud to have 450,000 Turkish companies in Africa in our database,” he remarked.
He further stressed that the emphasis on small- and medium-sized enterprises continues through events like the WCI Forum, supported by the Turkish Trade Ministry, with a strong focus on production and export growth.
Bengisu additionally highlighted ongoing initiatives to enhance Türkiye-Africa partnerships, mentioning a Digital Transformation Center inaugurated last year that uses AI-powered, next-generation export solutions combined with practical field strategies.
He also announced that business communities from Turkey and Libya will convene in Benghazi, Libya, in December for a significant gathering.
“Turkish exports reaching the level of $400 billion in the 101st year of the (Turkish) Republic is a sign of our success,” Bengisu affirmed.
Ahmet Gulec, deputy chair of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly, emphasized that trade between Türkiye and Africa is crucial for the peaceful development of the region and creates a mutually beneficial situation for both parties.
